No problem I think the most users here are able to read and write in English.
Between the Volt and the Ampera there are only tiny differences.
Mostly the design, and the interior in the inside of the car.
I remember (but don't know for sure) that the Volt doesn't have the "Hold" drive mode.
With the "Hold" drive mode you can set it, and the battery will save until you deactivate "Hold" mode again. That means you can drive with fuel when you want. The Volt can only start in "Normal" mode full electric and if the battery is empty the fuel engine starts. In "hold" you can choose if you want to drive with fuel early and save the battery level perhaps for the last 10 km where you want to drive on battery because it is in city or something like that.
But somebody have to prove that because I don't know exactly.
Are there Amperas with "cosmo" configuration? Normaly "Cosmo" was in every Opel car the top configuration. Nowadays they call it other names.
In only know that the Amperas in full configuration are "e-pioneers".
So if you buy a e-pioneer you will have a fully equip car.
Perhaps the cosmo is the same only other name.

Hi,
The Story with the Volt not having the hold mode was only true for the US models, prior to 2013. European Volts allways had this mode.
Regarding "Cosmo", it depends from where you intend to import the car.
In Germany, the top equipment is referred to as "e-pionnier". In France, it is sold as "Cosmo Pack".
"Cosmo" refers to the version without navigation and backup camera.
If you are more comfortable with French, you can also go to

The charger will handle at maximum 16A with 230 Volt. On a certain plug. The normal plug here in Germany can only handle 10A with 230 Volt.
So the charging power is between 3,5 kW @16A and 2,3 kW @ 10A.
Normaly you can plug in the ampera in every normal power socket at your home. There is no specialty needed.
I cannot tell you what software will be on the car in Portugal. If it is a car for portugal there should be installed the software in your native language.

Hi,
Here is the answer to your question regarding the language setup :
Regarding the charging cable : the Ampera comes with a mobile charging cable with a normal household plug (known as ShuKo). AFAIK, you have the same plugs in Portugal. You will be limited to 10 A.
If you want to charge on a Menekes plug, you may buy the optional mode 3 cable from Opel. With such a cable, you will be able to charge with 16 A.

The Ampera has the Typ 1 socket. The EU socket is Typ 2 Mennekes. There are cables available what have the one side typ 2 (for the charging station) and other side Typ 1 for your car.
The car comes with a charging cable with that you can charge at home in normal socket. Looks like this (for German Plug)

This Typ 1 Typ 2 cables look like this:
